How can autophagy or the increase of autophagy e.g. in humans be measured?

Autophagy can be measured by either direct observation of autophagy-related structures and their fate; or quantification of autophagy-/lysosome-dependent degradation of proteins and organelles. To accurately estimate autophagic activity, it is essential to determine autophagic flux, which is defined as the amount of autophagic degradation. Monitoring autophagic flux remains complicated even in cultured cells and model organisms and is currently unfeasible in humans.

What is autophagy? How does it relate to spermidineLIFE®?

Autophagy is the body’s process of breaking down damaged or unusable cell components to generate energy. These damaged cell components can lead to age-related diseases. By recycling these components, cellular metabolism is promoted, keeping the cell young and healthy.

Autophagia in the cell can be stimulated by fasting, exercising, and taking certain substances such as spermidine.

SpermidineLIFE® pairs effectively with fasting and interval fasting. Taking the product together with food during interval fasting improves bioavailability.

Customer reviews say that spermidineLIFE® capsules can help with hair growth. Is this true?

Customer reviews on our website are from verified customers and are not fake or simulated feedback. We, ourselves, do not advertise possible increased hair growth as a benefit of spermidineLIFE® products. However, research has shown that shampoos that contain spermidine can help stimulate hair growth. Apart from that, due to the very strict legal regulations in the field of food supplements, we are not able to make any health-related statements about the possible effects of a food supplement.

Can the spermidine level in the blood be measured?

It is possible to measure the level of spermidine in the blood, however, this process can be expensive and will require equipment not typically found in regular research labs. This makes the process not widely available to non-scientific organizations. It’s much easier and cost-efficient to measure spermidine content in the organs but it requires a biopsy.
